The temple may come up at Navi Mumbai where the state government has agreed to provide land free of cost, or on a private property at Chembur, which has a sizablepopulation of South Indian devotees.

Another place that is likely to get Venkateswara temple is Kanyakumari. The TTD is planning to build the temple on the sea shore. Another place ear marked for the construction of a temple is in Gole Market which is in the heart of New Delhi.

“These temples will satiate the devotion of the local population and enhance manifold their affinity to the Lord”, said TTD Executive Officer L.V.Subramaniam. Another plan is to do away with the guesthouse and rooms at the TTD’s Chennai Information centre in T.nagar, Chennai, and retain it as a fully fledged temple.

The rooms may be shifted either to the property on G.N.Chetty Road, which was donated by yesteryear actor Kanchana, or a huge complex in Royapettah, Mr. Subramaniam said. With such measures, the TTD hopes the devotees will focus more on the local temples, thus making the turnout at Tirumala more manageable. In Tirumala, during auspicious days and during vacations, Crowds gathered to have a darshan of Lord Venkateswara may have to wait for twenty four hours in the que which causes lot of discomfort to the elderly, women and children.This plan to decongest Tirumala also stems from the fact that Tirumala has to be in constant vigil against any possible security threat and overcrowding will hamper the safety of the temple.

People were seen wearing tee shirts with “I am Anna” or “India against Corruption” slogans written on them. All age groups were present and this indicated people’s strong sentiments against corruption. The 74 year old Anna Hazare, in the rally, declared that “youth power determined a nation’s strength” and how he himself felt rejuvenated at seeing so many youngsters in the rally.

He spoke of his frugal lifestyle inside a temple with only a mat to sleep on and a plate to eat from Pointing out that he had sent home six Ministers apart from at least 400 officers during his battle against graft, Mr. Hazare remarked: “I took six wickets ; imagine where India could go if each of you took one wicket each.”

Anna recollected the inspiration he got from reading Swami Vivekananda, reminded youth that service to the community and the nation was akin to worshipping the Almighty. Mr. Hazare encouraged youth to marry, unlike him, and have one or two children but requested them to spare a few hours everyday to serve the community.

The Tamil Nadu CM in her address televised on a private channel, a transcript of which was later released to other media, dwelt at length the financial crisis shrouding the organizations concerned- Tami Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), a successor entity of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB); State Transport Corporations and the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation (AAVIN). “If these public sector undertakings, lying on the death bed, are not given ‘oxygen’ now, they will become totally dysfunctional,” she said.
Even after the revision, the bus fares and the milk price would be lower than those in other southern states, Ms Jayalalitha pointed out.

Bus fare- Mofussil (28p to 42p /km) Express (32p to 56p/km) super deluxe (38 to 60p/km ) ultra deluxe (52p to 70p/km)

The minimum bus ticket price in urban areas other than Chennai would go up from Rs.2 to 3, and the maximum would be Rs.12 instead of Rs.7. In Chennai too, the minimum fare would go up to Rs.3 and the maximum would be Rs.14 instead of Rs.12.

Milk Price- The price of toned milk per liter would be revised from Rs 17.75 to Rs. 24. The procurement price of milk paid to dairy farmers would go up from Rs.18 to Rs liter for cow milk and from Rs 26 to Rs.28 for buffalo milk.

Power tariff-Sources say that the increase in the power tariff is, on an average, expected to be Rs 1.50 per unit for different sections of consumers. It will fetch Rs 8000 crore in a year to the cash starved power utility.

The power utility would file a petition before the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory commission (TNERC) which would hold public hearings before fixing the new tariff. The manner in which the announcement on price hike was made was itself a novelty as Ms Jayalalitha used Jaya TV to announce her government’s decisions around 3.30pm. Minutes later, the government released the text of her address to the media.

This was only possible as to the hard work of many who have risked their lives to gather evidence which can’t be refuted. Tamils may not have Oil but the evidence of human rights violations against Tamils is not something the Government of Sri Lanka managed to hide entirely as they were overflowing. This is just the tip of the ice berg. The truth shall let Tamils free. As a Tamil please educate fellow Tamils including your family and friends around the world of the historic responsibility they have as a nation and to let other nations around the world be informed. Gather as much support as possible and join hands with everyone to take actions that are necessary to bring justice, peace and freedom to the Tamils, who has suffered and continue to suffer in the island of Sri Lanka. Remember to work hard everyday to punish those who have been committing these Human Rights violations and War Crimes.

Without Justice there can be no Peace.

This election went on today after a brief and intense election campaign during the past few weeks time allotted to the political parties by the Election Commission of India. The final campaigning ended on April 11, on Monday.

Polling booths in Tamilnadu have seen both common men and celebrities to cast their votes. Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi, the two faces of Dravidian politics came early to cast their votes.

When Karunanidhi spoke after casting his votes told, “…we’ll get absolute majority this time, Jayalalitha’s campaign was never based on the manifesto and people should understand this.”

As Jayalalitha told to reporters back from polling booth, “the people are determined to vote out the DMK government and bring in AIADMK”

Distribution of money to the voters has been a worry to the election commission. The DMK faces the most allegations that they are trying to buy votes with money. The man who often faced the allegations of using money power is the elder son of Chief Minister M.K. Alagiri, who is a central minister too. He had cast his vote in Madurai, which is his stronghold constituency.

Alagiri said, “DMK, congress and its allies only asked for votes based on what we have achieved.”

The results in the tensed southern districts of Tamilnadu are crucial for the DMK. They are also crucial for the image of M.K. Alagiri, Union Minister. Within the DMK, he is the man controlling the southern districts.

Many actors were seen at the polling booth to cast their votes.

Is it going to be the corruption allegations and is it going to the promises for freebies? Is it going to be money power or severe power crisis and price hike? All these are going to be reflected in these election results.

Is it going to be Karunanidhi or Jayalalitha is the result that all are waiting for in Tamilnadu. It is going to be a crucial month-long wait for the state to get the result. The election results are going to be out only by May 13th (Friday).

None of the Eelam Tamil problems or issues were taken into the campaign during this election. However, people are aware of it and any common man of Tamilnadu has concern for Eelam, with no action.

DMO reports improvement in Parathi amma's health

“I do not know why Kalaignar Aiya [Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi] sent me back,” Parvathi Amma, who was admitted to Valveddiththu’rai (VVT) hospital told TamilNet in May 2010.

Due to multiple displacements during the military offensives of the Sri Lanka Army, and later incarceration at the notorious Panagoda Camp, her health had deteriorated. One of her hands had been badly affected.

Former TNA parliamentarian S.K. Sivajilingam had facilitated her release and medical transportation.

Though this shocking but a little known news on web already comes around in discussion forums about Rajapaksa’s recent visits to hospitals and foreign countries without any prior official agenda, the recently published news in a well-known media adds more weight to the topic. However, the article is covered up with eternal emotions of cruelly affected Tamils which is the worst of its happening in this century.

The article about the Srilankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s recent health secrets starts with doubtful assurance that he has got cancer and is undergoing treatment at various levels. Though there is no clear evidence about this, there are a few ‘important’ unanswered question remains silent assuring his health issue.

In the SrilankaGuardian website, it elaborates this topic adding up that during the intense phase of war that licked million liters of innocent Tamil’s blood in a short span of arrogance, India had provided Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) that brought live of the incidents of killing of thousand and thousands of Tamil innocents being killed at the “war front” (as per Srilanka’s claim which actually were all civilians livinghood) for no reasons but they are Tamils. Rajapaksa got entertained by seeing all these atrocities by his army.

After the bloodstained Eelam War IV, the Tamils have their FAITH as the only weapon to punish the war criminals and no legal approaches have done even a little to bring out the reality.

Telecommunication Minister of India A. Raja

Along with the 47-year-old A. Raja, R. K. Chandolia, his former personal secretary and Siddartha Behura who was his former Telecom Secretary were also arrested for allegedly abusing their official position and manipulating the tendering procedures to benefit certain telecom companies in getting the spectrum. The arrest Raja comes over two months after he has been questioned four times by the CBI.

He who was questioned earlier on December 24 and 25, 2010 and and on January 31, 2011 was called to the CBI office today morning and quizzed before being arrested. Earlier at his premises, some important documents were recovered from the computers and seized during searches conducted by the investigation agency.

The DMK MP, Raja was also asked about his conversations with Neera Radia and the reasons for advancing the cut-off date of applying for license for spectrum allocation in 2007 by a week. With the unusual rise in the voices and supports on this issue from the opposition party, Raja was forced to resign on November 14 last year in the wake of the CAG report which held that the spectrum allocation at undervalued prices resulted in a notional loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the state exchequer.

Raja was allocated with telecom portfolio on May 18, 2007, he then continued as Telecom Minister after being re-elected as MP and served in the ministry from May 31, 2009 till November 14, 2010. The Supreme Court has asked CBI and ED (Enforcement Directorate) to submit status reports on their investigations into the 2G spectrum case to it by February 10 this year which is the date for further hearing.

The CBI has mentioned in its FIR, the loss in spectrum allocation as Rs. 22,000 crore based on CVC findings that had referred the case to it. Pradip Baijal, the chief of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) who is a 1966 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, and it also questioned former Telecom Secretary D. S. Mathur in connection with the case.

Nitin Gadkari on Tamil nadu fishermen killings

Speaking to reporters before winding up his Chennai visit, Gadkari said the State and the Union governments had failed in their duty to provide safety to the Tamil Nadu fishermen and added sarcastically that Chief Minister Karunanidhi could give bullet-proof jackets to fishermen instead of colour televisions. Even Pakistani fishermen who strayed into Indian waters were not shot at and only arrested. “BJP has taken serious note of the situation and would raise the issue in and outside Parliament.”

Answering a question, he said the visit f Nirupama Rao was intended to create an impression in the minds of the people that the government was doing something on the issue. “Its unfortunate.” Leader of Opposition in the LS Sushma Swaraj would shortly visit the kin of the Vedaranyam fisherman who was killed recently, he added.

Asked on Rahul Gandhi’s comment that he was for th retrieval of black money stashed away in safe havens, he said it was a ‘joke’. While Pranab Mukherjee had said that revealing the names of secret account holders was not possible, Rahul had contradicted the government stance. he asked the media ‘not to take Rahul seriously’ as his statements were contradictory.

On the CVC chief Thomas issue, Gadkari said he could not understand the ‘pressure’ on the PM to appoint the bureaucrat to the top post.
