Railway station platform ticket fares have increased to Rs. 10 from Rs. 5 from April 1st. Higher official from the railway ministry has announced this fare hike.
With the railway platform ticket fares increased to Rs. 10 minimum, the Regional managers are given the powers to further increase the fares, if needed and if the crowd is more in the respective railway stations.
The official has further said, particularly in festive seasons and in processions, to avoid the crowd in the railway stations, this power is given to them.
In addition to this, train ticket advance booking duration to 120 days from existing 60 days is getting implemented from April 1st.
