How to Choose Your Shampoo to Stop Hair fall ?

Hair fall is a common problem faced by a majority of people irrespective of age and gender. There are many reasons for hair fall some of them being hormonal imbalance, taking high potent medication, pollution, not following a proper diet, insomnia, not using a proper shampoo etc.

If we consider that the other causes for hair fall are being taken care, we need to choose the right kind of shampoo to avoid hair fall as this plays a major role in reducing the problem. There is a wide range of shampoos available in the market these days and it becomes tough to choose one shampoo from hundreds of shampoos available.

Choosing the shampoo should always be done based on the type of your hair and the frequency of usage. The type of hair can be classified as oily, dry and normal hair based on the condition of the scalp. While normal hair is easy to maintain, oily and dry hair requires some maintenance. Dry hair has needs more moisture and oily hair needs proper cleansing and removal of excess oil. Also, the hair can be classified as thin, thick and medium hair based on the volume of the hair.

Which shampoo is best?

Let us look at the kind of shampoo to choose based on the type of hair:

Oily hair: Oily hair needs to be cleaned frequently as the excess oil has to be removed. The common problem faced by people with oily scalp is wet dandruff. This can cause itching and irritation on the scalp. The best kind of shampoo is to choose a natural shampoo with added citrus fruit extracts, amla extracts, shampoo with a combination of eggs or a medicated shampoo for dandruff if you face severe dandruff problem.

Dry Hair: Dry hair needs a mot of moisture as they can break easily when brushing the hair. The other problem faced by people with dry scalp is dry dandruff. If you have dry hair or dry scalp, it is best to choose shampoos with less pH and shampoos which made from combination with Aloe Vera, Coconut oil, olive oil etc. Using a mild shampoo and a conditioner can reduce the hair fall due to dryness. If you suffer from dandruff, them using an anti-dandruff shampoo would be good, but the shampoo should be mild and fee from harsh chemicals. Research shows that a shampoo in combination with tea tree oil is good for dandruff as well improves the moisture of the hair.

Normal Hair: If your hair is normal i.e. it is neither dry nor oily, maintaining the hair by choosing a shampoo with moderate pH or a natural shampoo which enhances the growth of the hair is good.

Thin hair: If you have thin hair, you can choose a shampoo which gives volume to the hair. The best thing on a long term would be to choose a natural shampoo which properly cleanses the hair and improves the growth of the hair.

It is always better to choose a shampoo based on natural products as they can have fewer side effects.
