Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is to launch “Amma Mineral Water” plan starting from September 15. Government has already announced that from the Arignar Anna birthday ‘Amma Mineral Water’ plan will be implemented. Following this earlier announcement, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is to inaugurate ‘Amma Mineral Water’ project on September 15 in Chennai.
Water is essential need of people. But in many places in Tamil Nadu, Government is not providing clean drinking water. So to protect their health upper class people started to buy mineral water bottles and cans.
Regarding this Amma Mineral Water Plan, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced to set up Amma Mineral Water manufacturing plants all over Tamilnadu on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporations.
In order to implement this, as first phase it is to be started in Thiruvallur District. 3 lakh liters Mineral Drinking water will be produced daily in Gummidipoondi Amma Mineral Water Production Centre.
1 Litre bottle of drinking water costs Rs.10. Amma Mineral Water will be available from September 15 in all Government buses, bus stands and in other bus stands in Chennai and other places.
