Kamal Haasan Receives Henri Langlois Award

Actor Kamal Hasan has received “Henri Langlois” award in France. The award jury has announced on that Kamal Hasan has been awarded with “Henri Langlois” award for the service he (Kamal) had rendered to the Indian cinema industry.

Earlier, Kamal Hasan was received by the Indian ambassador for France, Mr. Mohan Kumar. Henri Langlois was a French film archivist and cinephile. A pioneer of film preservation, Langlois was an influential figure in the history of cinema.

After Henri Langlois died in the year 1977, this award has been presented regularly for the achievers in cinema industry.

After receiving the award Kamal Hasan said, “I have received Henri Langlois award in Paris. I wish my guru (teacher) Anathu sir should had been there to see this. He is the one who has introduced me to the name “Henri Langlois”.
