The Supreme Court of India has delivered the verdict in the disproportionate assets case and convicted Sasikala along with her aids Sudhakaran & Ilavarasi. She has been sentenced to serve jail term for four years. After the release from jail, she will be disqualified to contest in elections for six years.
The recent confusion of CM fight in Tamil Nadu state has come to an end by this verdict by SC. The Supreme Court verdict which decided the future of AIADMK’s interim general secretary V.K.Sasikala was pronounced at 10:30 am today (Tuesday; February 14, 2017).
Since Ms. J.Jayalalitha is dead, the case against her would be abated. The other accused in this disproportionate case are Sasikala and her relatives V.N. Sudhakaran and Elavarsi (Sasikala’s sister).
Police deployed at the Golden Bay Resort where it is said that Sasikala has abducted and kept 30 MLAs for her support to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
This verdict will bring a massive change in the state’s politics. Mr. O.Panneerselvam would be called to sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. On the further move, the fate of AIADMK party’s future will be decided.
