Former President of India, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had passed away on Monday following a heart attack.
Dr. Abdul Kalam suddenly collapsed during a lecture at the IIM (Indian Institute of Management) in Shillong at around 6.30 p.m. Soon after this incident, he was taken to the hospital in Shillong.
Mr. A.P.J Kalam (84) took fainted at a function in Shillong and was rushed to the hospital, M. Kharkrang, SP, Khasi Hills, said.
Treatments couldn’t save former President Dr. Kalam and he passed away. Meghalaya Governor V. Shanmughanathan and Chief Secretary P.B.O. Warjri visited the Bethany hospital where Mr. Kalam has been admitted.

A.P.J (Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen) Abdul Kalam was a nuclear scientist before becoming the 11th President of India. He was the President of India from 2002 to 2007. Kalam was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu and studied physics and aerospace engineering.
