Election in Sri Lanka held Peacefully: Vote Count at 10pm

In Sri Lanka, war held between LTTE and the Srilankan army over past 30 years. In the year 2009, this war came to end. Following this war end, provincial election is conducted for the first time in the northern part of Sri Lanka where majority of Tamils ​​living.

Provincial election in north and central part of Sri Lanka held peacefully today [Sept 21,2013]. Vote counting is to be started at night 10pm.

Totally, in 36 constituencies 906 candidates are competing. In north provincial election, big competition was running over Tamil party (Tamil National Alliance) and opposition party (Freedom Alliance party) headed by ruling Rajapaksa party. So, army forces are landed in all election booths.

To monitor the election process, around 2000 people from India, Pakistan, China, Afghanistan, Bangladesh are involved. Voting began at 7am ended at 4 pm. It is announced that vote counting starts at tonight 10pm.
