DMK Chief and Kanimozhi’s father Karunanidhi has expressed his anguish over delay in his daughter’s bail plea. Mr. Karunanidhi wondered whether the judicial mechanism is functioning fairly and freely.HE has raised this issue after the special CBI court rejected Kanimozhi’s bail application after framing of charges by the CBI.
Mr. karunanidhi argued that even after the supreme court’s directive that that his daughter Kanimozhi could approach the trial court for bail after framing of charges, the trial court rejected her bail plea in spite of CBI not opposing the bail petition on the grounds that the gravity of charges were very serious and the accused could tamper with evidences once let on bail.
Mr. karunanidhi said that in the view of legal experts the decline of bail by the special CBI court was beyond justification and every individual is entitled for bail and cannot be confined to the prison walls Indefinitely Mr. karunanidhi is further frustrated at the fact that the bail appeal filed in the High Court by Kanimozhi Has been adjourned to December 1st. with the High Court directing the CBI to file itsreply within 3 weeks As of now Kanimozhi’s wait for bail fate is another few weeks away.
