Kochi: In a major relief to Malayalam star Dileep, the Kerala High Court on Tuesday granted him bail in the case relating to the abduction and sexual assault of an actress.
It was Dileep’s third bail plea. Previously, the court has rejected his two bail applications after finding strong evidence in the case.
According to sources, the Malayalam actor was released on bail on his executing a bond for Rs 1 lakh. The court has ordered him to surrender his passport and also asked him to appear before the investigation team when required.
Dileep was arrested on July 10 on charges of being a part of the conspiracy to kidnap and sexually assault an actress, who has worked in Tamil and Telugu films.
Five others including main accused ‘Pulsar’ Suni was arrested in connection with the case. On Sunday, police have questioned filmmaker Nadirshah, who has also filed an anticipatory bail plea in the HC.
