Today, Dec 18 2015, will be an important day in the history of Bollywood since Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s the magnum opus historical film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra) and Rohit shetty’s massive masala movie ‘Dilwale’ (starring Sharukh Khan and Kajol) is put into dual in the screens.
But the single screen theatres have refused to follow the pre-signed contract with Eros International, thus favoring the situation to ‘Dilwale’ even before the films hit the screen. The agreement prohibited the single screen owners to run any other film other than ‘Bajirao Mastani’ for a week.
The owners fearing loss collectively decided to run equal shows for both the movies. The Eros International made a move through High Court on Wednesday. However the HC passed the judgment in favor of the single screen owners. They were allowed to run equal shows for both the movies.
The Eros international in a media meet gave a statement saying, ‘We have valid signed contracts and the court have said that we have recourse to damages on solo houseful basis. Yet we have taken a friendly decision. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is receiving a very good positive response from all over the world. Our film will be undoubtedly a tremendous success’.
