Chennai: After 27 years, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and superstar Nagarjuna have once again teamed up for a Telugu film.
RGV and Nagarjuna had previously worked together in critically acclaimed Telugu films Shiva and Govinda. Now, the duo is once again all set to reunite for a yet-untitled Telugu realistic action movie.
Reports were doing the rounds that the movie could be a sequel to Shiva but the filmmaker has rubbished the reports.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the filmmaker wrote “I am extremely excited that I am doing a film with Nagarjuna after nearly 25 years but contrary to some uninformed media speculations, this new film is nothing to with SHIVA, neither in character nor in story content. It’s a very different but an extremely realistic action film set against a story such as neither me nor Nagarjuna has ever done before. I just hope I will once again live up to his expectations which he had of me the first time he gave me a break.”
RGV made his directorial debut in 1989 with superstar Nagarjuna in ‘Siva’.
Buzz is that the shoot is likely to begin next year.
Currently, Nagarjuna is gearing up for the release of his upcoming flick ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ while RGV awaits for Lakshmi’s NTR, a biopic on actor and ex-Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.
