Sachin Tendulkar has fascinated West Indian Batsman Kirk Anton Edwards more than anyone else in the opposition ranks in the International scenario. Kirk Edwards thinks playing with Sachin Tendulkar is a special moment. “Actually I fet along very well with Dravid. I admire Laxman. I admire a majority of those guys. But playing a game with Sachin Tendulkar was something special. It is a memory that I will live with forever,” said Edwards after his team had a practice session at the Wankhade Stadium ahead of the third and final test which begins on November 22.
Edwards said they were going into the third test with confidence and believes that Test cricket is the true challenge for cricketers. “It is mainly mental; you have to be prepared for more challenges because as you said before it is Test cricket and it has been given that name because it really tests you”. The West Indian thinks that India are very good at home as they understand the conditions better. “I think they are very god at home. I played against Ishant Sharma in the Carribean and the other guys I have played against them overseas. But from what I have seen over the past couple of weeks, they really understand the conditions better and they stick to the task”.
On Sachin Tendulkar, Edwards said that he was really concentrating hard when the little master bats and the same level of concentration is not in him as a fielder because he is so very engrossed with the techniques of Sachin Tendulkar. Edwards is convinced that Sachin Tendulkar is a role model for all youngsters who wants to make a mark in the international arena.
