Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s Tamil comedy ‘Rajini Murugan’, which released after months of delay on Pongal last week, has emerged as the industry’s first blockbuster of the year.
Trade analyst Trinath told that ‘In the opening weekend, the film raked in over Rs 20 crore worldwide. It’s the biggest opening for the Sivakarthikeyan in his career so far. Despite the onslaught of the three other big releases, ‘Rajini Murugan’ emerged successful,’.
Directed by Ponram, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Soori and Rajkiran in important roles.
Despite mixed reviews, ‘Rajini Murugan’ was lapped up by the masses.
‘The film has registered fantastic opening everywhere, especially in B and C centres. It has worked extremely well with the masses and family audiences,’ Trinath said.
