G.L. Peiris, Foreign Affairs Minister of Srilanka met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in person and urged him to attend the Commonwealth conference 2013 to be held in SriLanka.

Peiris who met PM Manmohan Singh in New Delhi delivered the special invitation of Srilankan President Mahinda Rajapakse to take part in the commonwealth conference.

Evening Peiris met Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid and had talks with him. It seems talk was about the bilateral ties of both the countries.

Coming November Commonwealth conference will be held in SriLanka. All the countries commonwealth leaders are invited for the conference.

All the political parties in India, including human rights organizations have urged the various parties to ignore the commonwealth conference to be held in Srilanka.
